      List of Veterans

      Today we take our freedom for granted. However, there are many of our relatives who fought to ensure our liberties. These veterans are a testimony to our heritage. They were ordinary people who believed in and fought for their country. However, the sacrifices they made are fast becoming a faint memory. Most didn’t talk about their part in the war unless asked. They were ordinary men and women who had seen the horrors of war yet came back to raise families and lead successful lives.

      There were 16 million who served in the armed forces of the U.S. during WWII. More than 400,000 died. Almost half a million served the United States in the Korean War, over 36,000 died and over 8,000 were missing in action. Over 8,000,000 US troops served in the Vietnam War with more than 58,000 killed and almost 2,000 missing in action. The sad fact is that we are losing more than 1000 of these veterans every day.

      This is a compilation of veterans found among the descendants of Andrew John Cusac. This list is not complete in any way. It is just a compilation of the veterans I have found while doing research on this family. It contains not only those that are direct descendants but spouses of descendants as well.

      I am still looking for information on any veterans. I am particularly interested in information on veterans from the Korean War, Vietnam, the Gulf War, Iraq and those serving currently. I am also interested in any information on any women who served. To date I have found very little on any women descendants who served in the military.

      This newsletter is dedicated to all who have served their country in war or peace time.
