1. Lydia Ann (Rodman) Peek census, obituary and death records (William Rodman, Roseann Cusac, Andrew John)
Lydia Ann Rodman was born 17 Mar1853 in Jones Co, Iowa. She was the daughter of William Rodman and Sarah Barnhill. She died of encephalitis in Independence, Jackson Co, Missouri on 29 Oct 1923. She married James A Peek on 27 Nov 1870 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born about 1850 in KY. He died sometime after 1923.
According to Robert Wencl, a Peek family researcher, James Peek traveled all over Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, North Dakota, South Dakota and Canada trying to convert people to his faith. He promoted the Reformed Church of Jesus Christ and the Latter Day Saints.

Mrs. Lydia Ann Peek, 70 years old died at 5 o’clock this morning at 118 West Linden avenue. Mrs. Peek was married to James A. Peek at Des Moines, Iowa, November 27, 1870. Surviving are her husband and the following children: Katherine B. Cole, North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada; Frank Peek, 1614 North Osage street, Independence; Mrs. Lillian McConnighay, Warrensburg, Mo., J.W. Peek, Clitherell, Minn; Mrs. Esther Barner, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada; and Mrs. Rose Morten, Unity, Saskatchewan, Canada. Funeral services will be held from the home of her son, H.R. Peek, 724 South Liberty street, and burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. The time of the funeral awaits word from distant relatives.”

2. Franklin A Peek census records (Lydia Rodman, William, Roseann Cusac, Andrew John)
Franklin A Peek was born August 1874 in Elkhorn Station, NE. He was married at least three times. His first wife is unknown and does not appear in the 1900 census. According to the 1900 census he married about 1897. It is unclear if his first wife died or if he was divorced by 1900.
He was married a second time to Lillie Adlin Madden about 1904. She had previously been married and had at least 3 children from this previous marriage. Frank and Lillie divorced sometime between 1920 and 1930.
Frank’s third wife was Addie Esther. They were married by the time of the1930 census.

3. Lillie Adlin Madden Peek obituary and death record (1st wife of Franklin A Peek, Lydia Ann Rodman, William, Roseanne Cusac, Andrew John).
Lillie A Madden was born 31 March 1874 in Decatur, Iowa. She was the daughter of Silas Julius Madden and Irene Moffett. Lillie was married first to an unknown Heard. She was divorced by the 1900 census and living with her parents, siblings, and two of her children Rachel and Mark Heard in Warrensburg, Johnson Co, MO. She was most likely pregnant with Nellie Irene Heard (b. about 1900) at the time of this census.

Mrs. Lillie A. Peek, 70 years old, 806 South Delaware Street, died this morning at the Independence Sanitarium and Hospital. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Rachel Thompson, Fredonia, Ariz.; and Mrs. Irene Hensley, Chilhowee, Mo.; five sons, W.A. Peek, Forty-second and South Crysler Streets; Joseph Peek, Warrensburg, Mo., Cpl. Franklin A. Peek, stationed in England; Charles A. Peek, Warrensburg; and M.N. Heard, Sand Point, Idaho; two brothers, James H. Madden, Thirty-sixth Street, Terrance; and Alfred Madden, McPherson, Kan.; a sister, Mrs. Cora M. Reynolds, Roswell, N.M.; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Peek was born March 31, 1874 at Decatur, Ia.
The funeral services will be at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon at the Roland R. Speaks Chapel. Burial in Mound Grove Cemetery.”

4. Addie Esther Peek obituary and death record (2nd wife of Franklin A Peek, Lydia Ann Rodman, William, Roseanne Cusac, Andrew John)
Addie was born 10 Dec 1884 in Lexington, MO. I have no information on her parents or siblings. According to the 1930 census she was married for the first time about 1892. I have no information on her first husband or if she had any of her own children. Her obituary only mentions an adopted daughter. The Peek children are not mentioned.
“Mrs. Addie Esther Peek Dead
Mrs. Addie Esther Peek, 72 years old, died at her home in Levasy, Mo., at 5 o’clock Friday evening. She was the wife of F.A. Peek, the blacksmith there. Mrs. Peek was born in Lexington, December 10, 1884. She had lived at Levasy the past three years and seven years prior lived in Independence. Surviving besides her husband, is an adopted daughter, Mrs. Earl Miller, 705 Fairview Avenue, Fairmont.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon from the home in Levasy in charge of the Rev. Paul Neidermeier, and the burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery near Independence.”

Willey Allen Peek was born 31 Jan 1905 in McGregor, Minnesota, and died 03 Dec 1982 in Independence, Jackson Co, Missouri.
“Willey A Peek
Wiley Allen Peek, 77, of 4203 S. Crysler St., Independence, a former area businessman, died Friday at the home.
Mr. Peek owned and operated the Peek Wood Products Co., Independence, before he retired in 1968.
He was a member and elder of the Ridgewood Congregation of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He was born in McGregor, Minn., and had lived in this area 40 years.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Evah Lucile Peek of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Alice L. Angilan, Overland Park; two brothers, Franklin Peek, Sedalia, Mo.; and Charles Peek, Gravois Mills, Mo.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Speaks Midtown Chapel; burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. The family requests no flowers and suggests contributions to the Independence Sanitarium and Hospital hospice group.”

This obituary was sent to me from another researcher. It appears it was from a book of compiled obituaries. The page notation on the photocopy is p. 485. It has a handwritten date of 12-3-82 next to Willey’s name.

Charles A. Peek, 81, Kansas City, MO, passed away Friday, January 23, 1998, at Edgewood Manor, Raytown, MO. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, January 26, at White Chapel, Gladstone, MO, with military service by 5th District Guard of Honor. Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. until service time at White Chapel.
Charles was born August 10, 1916, in Warrensburg, MO. Formerly of Lathrop, Charles had lived in the Kansas City area most of life before moving to the Lake of the Ozark area. He was an auto transport driver and an Airforce veteran of WWII. He was a member of the American Legion in Sunrise Beach, MO. Charles was united in marriage to Jerene Lucille Snyder on June 9, 1978, in Miami, OK. She preceded him in death in death in 1992. Survivors include one son, Larry A. Peek, Lenexa, KS; four daughters, Virginia Woodward, North Plains, OR, Barbara Jean Evans, Amboy, WA; Mary Jo Finney, Portland, OR, and Judy Winfrey, Kansas City, MO; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. (Arrangements: Bailey Funeral Home, Lathrop, MO).”
