The passing of Veterans Day this past November made me question how many
veterans were in Andrew John Cusac's line. Listed below are the veterans that
I have discovered. Does anyone know of any other veterans who served? I am
particularly interested in veterans of Korea, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf, and
Iraq.

War of 1812

Also serving in the same Company
were John Shaw and Joseph Martin. There are no pension files for Daniel. It is
my understanding that he did not serve long enough to qualify for a pension.

2. Civil War
These soldiers all served for the Union. These were found in the volumes of
Ohio Soldiers in the Civil War. Are there any Confederate soldiers in our
line?

Service Record: Enlisted as a Private on 02 May 1864 at the age of 35
Enlisted in Company K, 159th Infantry Regiment Ohio on 09 May 1864.
Mustered out Company K, 159th Infantry Regiment Ohio on 22 August 1864 (I
believe that this is the right William Axline even though his age is listed as
35y. Martha Axline filed for pension on 08 Mar 1923 and listed William as
serving in Co K, 159th OVI. This would be consistent with the death date of 17
Feb 1923.)

Service Record: Enlisted as a Private on 25 October 1864 at the age of 18
Substitute in Company A, 67th Infantry Regiment Ohio on 25 October 1864.
Mustered out Company A, 67th Infantry Regiment Ohio on 24 October 1865 in
Richmond, VA. (This William is the right age to be William the son of Mary
Isabella Cusac. More research is needed to determine if William re-enlisted in
this unit.)

served in the Civil War. I am still searching for his military record.

Query
Does anyone know where Alice S Cusac the daughter of Isaac Cusac and Sarah Van
Eman is buried? She died 18 Dec 1862 in Hancock Co, OH. She is not buried in
McComb Union Cemetery with her parents. Nor is she buried in Maple Grove
Cemetery with her grandparents.
